After a recent slide, put up a 3-1 last night. Hope to build on that this weekend. All three of today's plays are in the early games, may tag along with someone on the late action after I read some write-ups....
Villanova -2 1/2 (3 units)... This is familiar territory for the Wildcats, who usually go into games overmatched inside, but have been successful making up for it. While this situation is something new for BC, facing this fast-paced four guard alignment. Both squads will go about 7 deep and by media accounts, BC is acting as though they're willing to run with Nova (Big mistake). If so, Nova will pull away in the 2nd half. While some teams live and die with the three, even if the Wildcats are struggling from downtown, they usually find a way to win
George Mason -2 (3 units)... Is college basketball great or what?? Who would have guessed G Mason and Wichita State would be battling for a birth in the Elite 8? Mason will be playing this on in (almost) their own backyard after beating the Shockers at their place a month ago in the Bracket-Buster. Both teams are very similar in the fact that they are both balanced, but Mason is a tad better on offense and defense. They shoot it a little better and defend it a little better. That'll be the difference in a close game.
ALSO... adding a 2 unit play on the OVER in the G Mason/Wichita State game. These squads weren't expected to be here and play more loosely than other matchups, more apt to let it all hang on and get into an uptempo game.
